We began our project by brainstorming a list of our favorite picture books with both in-school and at-home learners. Students voted for their favorite book and were grouped by their interests. After reading through their picture books in breakout rooms with their distance learner group members, 3rd graders created storyboards in Jamboard to sketch out their characters, setting, problem, solution, and moral of their stories. In school learners then filmed each of their six scenes using our Stop Motion Movie app while at home learners drew their pictures on Jamboard. As they drew their picture in Jamboard, we took screenshots of their work and then filmed their screenshots in Stop Motion. Once all videos were complete, students exported their videos into iMovie, added voiceovers and theme music. After they finished, students uploaded their work to their Google Drive accounts so they could share their work with their family and friends at home. We hope you enjoy our finished projects!
