Laughter was heard all around as Ryan T. Higgins took the stage and taught SHS students what life was like being an author and an illustrator. Did you know, he gets to sleep in and wear pajamas to work? During Ryan's Kindergarten-2nd grade assembly he read aloud Bruce's BIG STORM and asked our students to help him create a new animal. Using our students ideas of a fish, elephant, bunny and lion he quickly sketched their new creation. As he worked, students were engaged and visibly excited. After a close vote, Ryan read aloud Santa Bruce during his 3rd-4th grade assembly. Students were often heard laughing as Bruce became the victim of mistaken identity! Ryan ended his assembly by sketching another new animal creation involving a dragon, bunny and an elephant. We LOVED having Ryan visit us at our school and can't wait to read the new books he has coming out soon! To print copies of his coloring pages, click here.
